Women Basketball Uniform Manufacturer | Custom USA Orders
If you’ve ever ordered team uniforms and received something that looks nothing like the mockup — faded colors, poor fit, late delivery — you know how frustrating it gets. We built our process specifically to fix that.
We’re a dedicated women’s basketball uniform manufacturer serving teams, brands, and retailers across the USA. Every piece we produce is made with women athletes in mind: the cut, the stretch, the sizing — all of it.

How Women's Basketball Uniforms Differ — And How We Engineer Every Detail
Most people assume a basketball uniform is just a jersey and shorts. But when you’re designing specifically for women athletes, the differences run deep — from fabric construction to pattern geometry to how a uniform moves under pressure.
Here’s exactly what sets women’s basketball uniforms apart, and how we engineer each element.
The Anatomy of a Women-Specific Fit
A standard men’s basketball jersey follows a straight-cut silhouette — wider shoulders, longer torso, minimal taper. That same template on a women’s body creates bunching at the waist, excess fabric across the chest, and restricted hip movement.
We use women-specific pattern blocks built from the ground up. That means:
- Tapered side seams that follow the natural hourglass contour, reducing excess fabric by 15–20% compared to unisex templates
- Shortened torso length with a higher hem point to prevent untucking during dynamic movement
- Wider hip-to-waist ratio panels — typically a 10–12 inch differential versus 6–8 inches in men’s cuts
- Raised underarm gussets positioned 1.5–2 inches higher to eliminate chafing and improve arm elevation for shooting mechanics
- Contoured chest panels with subtle darts or seam shaping to prevent fabric tension across the bust
The result? A uniform that stays in place during a full-court press and doesn’t pull or bunch when a player goes up for a rebound.
Fabric Technology: What We Use and Why
Not all performance fabric is equal. Here’s what goes into our women’s basketball uniforms:
Base Fabric — 100% Polyester Interlock Knit We use a 150–160 GSM (grams per square meter) interlock knit as our standard build. This weight hits the sweet spot — lightweight enough for speed, substantial enough to hold sublimation color integrity wash after wash. Heavier GSM (180+) is available for cold-weather or outdoor applications.
Moisture Management — Hydrophilic Wicking Technology Our fabric uses a dual-layer moisture transport system. The inner layer is hydrophobic (repels moisture away from skin), while the outer layer is hydrophilic (pulls sweat outward and disperses it across a larger surface area for faster evaporation). In practical terms, a player stays drier for longer during high-intensity quarters.
4-Way Stretch — Elastane Blend Construction The fabric contains 8–12% elastane (spandex) woven into a four-directional stretch matrix. This allows:
- Lengthwise stretch — full range of hip flexion for driving to the basket
- Crosswise stretch — unrestricted shoulder rotation for passing and shooting
- Recovery rate of 95%+ — the fabric snaps back to its original shape, maintaining a clean silhouette throughout the game
Anti-Odor Treatment We apply a silver-ion antimicrobial finish (AgION technology) during fabric processing. Silver ions bond to the fiber surface and inhibit bacterial growth — the primary cause of persistent athletic odor — without affecting breathability or color vibrancy.
Optional: Recycled rPET Fabric For brands pursuing sustainability credentials, we offer fabric made from recycled PET bottles (rPET). Each jersey uses approximately 6–8 recycled bottles, with no compromise on GSM, stretch, or wicking performance. This meets OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification — meaning no harmful substances in the final product.

Sublimation Printing: Why It Matters for Women's Uniforms
Dye-sublimation is a heat-transfer process that converts solid dye into gas under approximately 375–400°F, which then bonds permanently into the polyester fiber at a molecular level. It is not ink sitting on top of fabric. This matters for women’s uniforms specifically because:
- No cracking or peeling — even on high-flex areas like underarms, side seams, and hip panels where women’s cuts require more movement
- Color gamut of 16 million+ shades — achieve exact Pantone matches for team branding or corporate color standards
- Zero added weight — unlike screen printing or heat-transfer vinyl, sublimation adds no measurable GSM to the garment
- Gradients and photographic detail — complex designs, fades, skin-tone graphics, and multi-layer patterns are all achievable
One thing to know: sublimation only works on polyester content of 95%+. This is why our fabric composition is engineered to that spec. You get full print fidelity without sacrificing fabric performance.
Sizing Architecture: Inclusive and Precise
Women’s athletic sizing is not simply “S, M, L.” We build to a 7-grade size run as our standard:
Size | Chest (inches) | Waist (inches) | Hip (inches) |
XS | 30–32 | 23–25 | 33–35 |
S | 32–34 | 25–27 | 35–37 |
M | 34–36 | 27–29 | 37–39 |
L | 36–38 | 29–31 | 39–41 |
XL | 38–41 | 31–34 | 41–44 |
2XL | 41–44 | 34–37 | 44–47 |
3XL–4XL | 44–50 | 37–43 | 47–53 |
Each size grade is independently patterned — not scaled up or down from a single base block. This is called full-grade pattern engineering and it ensures proportional consistency across all sizes. An XS player and a 3XL player both get a uniform that fits their specific body geometry, not a stretched or compressed version of the same shape.
Custom sizing specs? We build to your measurement chart if your team has non-standard requirements.
Our Production Process
Structural Reinforcements Built for Intense Play For Women Basketball
Women’s basketball is physically demanding. Uniform construction has to hold up:
- Double-needle lockstitch seams at high-stress points — underarms, side panels, shoulder seams — rated for 40+ lbs of tensile pull before failure
- Flatlock stitching on interior seams to eliminate raised edges that cause skin irritation during extended wear
- Bartack reinforcements at hem corners and number/name application points — each bartack adds a concentrated 32-stitch anchor preventing tear propagation
Bonded hem tape on shorts waistbands using ultrasonic welding — no thread exposure, no fraying, maintains elasticity through 100+ wash cycles
Customization Layer by Layer
Here’s how a typical custom order is engineered from your brief:
Step 1 — Technical Design File (TDF) Your artwork is converted into a vector-based TDF in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, mapped precisely onto the 2D pattern pieces. Every panel is accounted for before printing begins.
Step 2 — Color Separation and ICC Profile Matching Colors are matched to your Pantone Solid Coated reference using calibrated ICC profiles. What you approve in the digital mockup is what you get on the court.
Step 3 — Print-Cut-Sew Workflow Sublimated panels are printed first as flat fabric, then laser-cut to pattern spec (tolerance: ±1mm), then assembled. This sequence preserves design alignment across seams — a common failure point with inferior manufacturers.
Step 4 — Name, Number, and Logo Application
- Sublimated — printed directly into the fabric during panel production (most durable, no texture)
- Embroidery — 3D raised finish, available in 40-weight thread, minimum 8,000 stitch density for logos
- Heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) — for metallic, reflective, or textured finishes not achievable via sublimation
Step 5 — QC Inspection Protocol Every finished garment goes through a 10-point inspection checklist: seam integrity, color consistency, logo placement accuracy (±3mm tolerance), size label verification, fabric defects, and wash-test sample pulls from every batch.

Built for Champions, Designed for Your Brand
Great uniforms do two things. They let players move freely, and they make your team look the part. Our custom women’s basketball uniforms deliver both.
We use fully sublimated printing, which means colors are locked into the fabric — not sitting on top of it. So after dozens of washes and intense game nights, your jerseys still look sharp. Pair that with 4-way stretch fabric, reinforced seams, and women-specific cuts, and you’ve got a uniform that actually keeps up.
What you can customize:
- Fabrics — breathable, lightweight, moisture-wicking polyester
- Designs — sublimated prints, reversible styles, name and number kits
- Branding — embroidery, heat-pressed logos, your exact team colors
- Sizing — inclusive range from XS to 4XL, built for women’s athletic builds
- Accessories — matching shorts, socks, and warm-ups
Want eco-friendly options? We offer recycled materials too.
